Fixed fiber-optic collimators are designed to accept FC or SMA terminated optical fibers and collimate a beam exiting a single-mode fiber to a 2.0 mm to 3.0 mm beam. Conversely, a laser beam can be launched into the assembly to focus the beam into a connected fiber.

High quality, broadband AR coated, glass aspheric lenses are used for low insertion loss and beam sizes only limited by diffraction. Coatings are offered for 543 nm, 780 nm, 1310 nm, and 1550 nm.
Applications
Applications include laser beam delivery systems, as well as coupling the output of a fiber into a detector. Applications of pairs of collimators include beam expansion systems for lab applications, as well as fiber-to-fiber coupling in compact components.
