Dovetail Mounting on All Four Sides

X26 optical rail carriers can easily be fixed to any of the four sides of the symmetrical cross-shaped rail providing four parallel work surfaces. Dovetail construction enables fast, easy mounting and secure clamping of carriers at any point along the rail without removing other components.

Standardized Optical Axis Height for Compatible Mounts

Multiple optical mount options are designed to work well with X26 optical rails by providing a common optical axis height. Compatible optical mounts include SL Series 1.0 in. Gimbal Optical Mounts, SB18YZ Series Lens Positioners, X26 Series Optic and Lens Barrel Mounts They all provided a common optical axis height of 40 mm above the rail surface. The allows for easy optical system construction.

Build Compact, Pre-Aligned Optical Systems

X26 optical rails and carriers are great for building stand-alone optical systems like the laser beam expander with spatial filter shown. They can also be used to build microscopes, collimators, interferometers, and other optical systems with standard Newport optical mounts. Dovetail construction makes it easy to adjust your optical system as required.

Wide Variety of Rail Carriers

We offer X26 optical rail carriers with either M6 or 1/4-20 mounting threads for mounting metric and imperial components. Rail carriers are offered with multiple width options to easily accommodate most items you would like to mount to an X26 optical rail.

Rail Carriers Can Be Used as Mounting Feet

X26 optical rails can be fixed to optical tables or breadboards by using CN26-12 rail carriers upside down as rail feet.
