The LQA1064-150E Laser Diode Module with Analog Modulation is a self-contained LD module with superior optical quality, a very high precision current source and a PID temperature controller, built in the module. This Fabry-Perot (FP) 1064 nm typical Laser Diode Module with a 150 mW elliptical beam comes in a self contained module. LQA Series Laser Diode Modules can be analog modulated up to 20 MHz. To modulate the LQA Series diode laser modules from below-threshold (at 0 V) to full power (at +1 V) requires an external 1 VDC analog input. Download the user's manual for complete operating instructions. The modulation sources must be provided by the user. LQA-CAB cable is recommended for modulation interface between the modulation source and the diode laser module. This module requires a 5 VDC external power supply. A LPMS-5 Series Power Supply (not included) must be used with this LD module to meet CDRH requirements by providing an interlock input, key enable switch, delayed start-up, and laser active indicator. Warranty is not applicable when a custom power supply is used to drive the module.

The LQA and LQD Series include a self-contained laser diode with superior optical quality, a very high precision current source and a PID temperature controller built in the module. These laser modules are ideal for demanding experimental setups where the temperature and current control are important.

Analog Modulation Versions

The LQA Series can perform analog modulation of up to 20 MHz. Modulating the LQA diode laser modules from below-threshold (at 0 V) to full power (at +1 V) requires an external 1 VDC analog input. The modulation sources must be provided by the user. Our cable is recommended as a modulation interface between the modulation source and the diode laser module.

Digital Modulation Versions

The LQD Series can perform digital modulation (via TTL) of up to 100 MHz. Modulating the LQD diode laser modules from below-threshold to full power requires a user-supplied external 0-5 V TTL modulation signal (0 V yields full power). Our cable is recommended as a modulation interface between the modulation source and the diode laser module.

Elliptical or Circular Beam Output

All LQA and LQD diode lasers are available either in elliptical (E versions) or circular (C versions) output beam shape. Circular beams are generated using a micro lens built in the diode laser and exhibit better quality than elliptical versions. The wavelengths indicated are typical values only, due to the nature of FP lasers.

LPMS Power Supplies Recommended for Use with Laser Diode Modules

Newport's LPMS Series Power Supplies (sold separately) are more than just power supplies. This is a key instrument that will make the LQA and LQD laser diode modules CDRH-compliant. It provides an interlock input, key enable switch, delayed start-up, and laser active indicator. The laser modules in the wavelength range of 375-473 nm require an 8/12 VDC power source. Those in the range of 635-2330 nm require a 5 VDC power source. (Note: Warranty is not applicable when a custom power supply is used to drive the laser diode module.)
