Product Series Overview
Laser Diode Modules, CWThe LPM635-08C Laser Diode Module is an economical choice for applications that only need laser diode modules with simple, more economical fixed output power supply The LPM modules include the diode and collimating optics in a single case. This Fabry-Perot (FP) 635 nm Laser Diode Module with 8 mW CW circular beam (using a microlens) comes in a self contained module. It requires a 5 VDC external power supply.
Economical LPM Series
For applications that only need laser diode modules with simple, more economical fixed output power supplies, the LPM series is suitable. The LPM modules include the diode and collimating optics in a single case.
Elliptical or Circular Beam Output
All LPM and LQC diode lasers are available either in elliptical (E versions) or circular (C versions) output beam shape. Circular beams are generated using a micro lens built in the diode laser and exhibit better quality than elliptical versions. The wavelengths indicated are typical values only, due to the nature of FP lasers.
LPMS Power Supplies Recommended for Use with Laser Diode Modules
Newport's LPMS Series Power Supplies (sold separately) are more than just power supplies. This is a key instrument that will make the LPM and LQC laser diode modules CDRH-compliant. It provides an interlock input, key enable switch, delayed start-up, and laser active indicator. The laser modules in the wavelength range of 375-473 nm require an 8/12 VDC power source. Those in the range of 635-2330 nm require a 5 VDC power source. (Note: Warranty is not applicable when a custom power supply is used to drive the laser diode module.)
