Features

Perpendicular and Parallel Mounting Surfaces

The 300-P Rod Platform, made of solid aluminum, provides a versatile foundation for mounting optical components. It has surfaces both parallel and perpendicular to the post axis to which components can be mounted directly with an array of threaded holes. The platform clamp is double-bored, forming two line contacts with Models (M-40 , (M-41, 42 or 45 supporting rods to prevent wobble once the locking screw is tightened, securing the platform in place.

Rotatable Platforms for Customizable Orientations

The Model 34 Rotatable Platforms provide the most versatility to mounting architectures and orientations. Commonly used in conjunction with the Model 340-RC and 370-RC Clamps, the end of this platform features a circular slot focused around a clearance hole to offer 360° positioning and attachment to other platform surfaces. With the 340-/370-RC, this positioning can be secured in 90° steps with two bolts. The platforms may also be joined end-to-end or side-to-end for an even wider variety of orientations. The Model 34 platform has 1/4-20 threaded holes for mounting optical components at the arbitrary angles it accommodates.

Fine Platform Height Adjustment

The 32A Optical Support Rod Fine Positioner provides fine height adjustment to the Model 300-P platform, using a screw which engages the matched 1/4-20 tapped hole in either end of the platform clamp. The adjustment screw provides a travel range of 0.7 in. (18 mm) along the rod axis owing its smooth rotation to a set of thrust ball bearings located in the clamp body.
